Major General John M. Paxton Jr., commander of U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe, cuts the first piece of cake for the guest-of-honor, Gen. Carter F. Ham, commanding general for U.S. Africa Command, as part of the traditional ceremony during the 237th Marine Corps Birthday Ball celebration for U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Europe, and U.S. Marine Corps Forces, Africa, November 10. Marines, along with their USAG Stuttgart community, gathered at the Messe, a hotel in Vaihingen, Germany, to uphold the traditions and customs celebrated every year for the Marine Corps Birthday.
