BALTIMORE—Donald Rollette, a retired Reserve Marine, handles his Thompson submachine gun in the basement of his house in Baltimore, Oct. 16, 2012. Rollette purchased his first weapon in 1947 for 50 cents but now he owes more than 50 weapons in his personal museum. Along with other artifacts, his collection is valued upwards of $1 million.
