Man's best friend. Labrador Retrievers work alongside Marines in Afghanistan to help sniff out improvised explosive devices and other explosives before they can damage vehicles or injure Marines. The dogs are specially trained and deployed thanks to the IED Detector Dog Program managed by Marine Corps Systems Command. After the dogs retire from the Marine Corps, they often go to work for other federal agencies across the country.
