Mohammad Sarwar Subat, the Nimroz province governor, speaks to distinguished coalition and Afghan officials from both Helmand and Nimroz provinces during the I Marine Expeditionary Force (Forward) farewell dinner at the Afghan Cultural Center here, Feb. 24. Sabet, the Nimroz province governor, whose province benefitted greatly this past year when U.S. and coalition forces handed over control to ANSF, said it’s “our time to stand up and take our country back.” Noting Afghanistan looks completely different today than it did 11 years ago, the governor vowed to continue, “To fight the insurgency and provide freedom in his province.” (Official U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt.
