CAMP HANSEN, OKINAWA, Japan—Sgt. Maj. Robert L. Caldwell speaks to Marines March 29 during his retirement ceremony at Camp Hansen. It was Caldwell’s infectious personality and leadership style that earned him the respect of the Marines under his charge, according to Col. Stephen B. Lewallen, the commanding officer of III Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group and camp commander of Camp Hansen.
