Lusetta Elise Lopez, a VMA-211 corrosion control specialist and a native of Spokane, Wash. (center right); LCpl. Gorge Flores Jr., a VMA-211 egress mechanic and a native of Hamilton, Ohio (center left); and LCpl. Marista Ann Dryden, a VMA-211 aviation mechanic and a native of Flynt, Mich. (left), represented the Wake Island Avengers, based out of Marine Corps Air Station Yuma, and were recognized at George Carver Elementary School’s end of the year Cinco De Mayo celebrations, May 3. The squadron has had a close-knit relationship with the school since formally adopting it in January of this year.
