Gen. Eiji Kimizuka speaks with Bonnie Amos July 19 at the Camp Foster parade deck following the III Marine Expeditionary Force change of command ceremony. Lt. Gen. John E. Wissler assumed command of III MEF from Lt. Gen. Kenneth J. Glueck Jr. “To the JSDF … and the (Republic of Korea) Marine Corps, we truly look forward to our continued service together and the security of the region,” said Wissler. “And to our Okinawa partners, Sue (Wissler) and I tremendously look forward to making lasting friendships and continuing to build on this great opportunity for the United States.” Kimizuka, the chief of staff of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, attended the ceremony with other key leaders of the JSDF and ROK Marine Corps.
