1st Lt. Richard Lewis, a non-lethal weapons instructor with 3rd Law Enforcement Battalion, III Marine Expeditionary Force, receives a stream of inert Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray while demonstrating how to complete the OC certification course during the Non-Lethal Weapons Executive Seminar field training exercise at Five Hills Training Area, Mongolia, Aug. 20. The FTX participants received classroom instruction and executed dry runs of the OC certification course, which also serves as a cumulative test on all non-lethal tactics covered thus far during the exercise. Mongolia is hosting NOLES for the third time in 12 years, and more than 150 personnel from the Mongolian Armed Forces and Mongolian General Police are participating in the annual training event.
