At 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 9, Marine Band Drum Major Master Gunnery Sgt. William L. Browne will lead “The President’s Own” at the memorial ceremony commemorating the 238th anniversary of the United States Marine Corps at the Marine Corps War Memorial in Arlington, Va. The band will perform along with “The Commandant’s Own” The United States Marine Drum and Bugle Corps, the Silent Drill Platoon, and Marine Barracks Washington ceremonial marchers. Commandant of the Marine Corps General James F. Amos will speak at the birthday celebration and lay a wreath in honor of all Marines who have given their lives in service of our country since 1775. The event is free, open to the public, and Metro accessible.
