U.S. Marine Lt. Gen. John Wissler, left, and Republic of Korea Marine Lt. Gen. Ho Yeon Lee board an MV-22B Osprey tiltrotor aircraft at Daegu Air Base in Daegu, Republic of Korea. Wissler and Hyun linked up at Daegu to observe the 3rd Marine Division’s combined operations center during the command post exercise portion of Marine Expeditionary Force Exercise 2014. MEFEX enhances the interoperability between the U.S. Marine air-ground task force and the ROK Marine task force while honing amphibious capabilities of each nation’s Navy and Marine Corps. Wissler is the commanding general of III Marine Expeditionary Force, and Lee is the commandant of the ROK Marine Corps. The Osprey and crew are with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III MEF.
