Master Chief Petty Officer Eric S. Anderson, left, and Chief Petty Officer Sandra M. Go-Lubiano cut a cake April 1 on Camp Hansen during a celebration of the 121st Chief Petty Officer Birthday. The cake cutting is a time-honored ceremony in which the oldest service member present passes the first piece to the junior service member, representing the passing and sharing of experience between generations. Anderson was the oldest the chief petty officer present and command master chief petty officer of III Marine Expeditionary Force. Go-Lubiano was the youngest chief petty officer present and a corpsman with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III MEF.
