U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Parnell Sararana, New Horizons Civil Affairs Detachment, standing left, signs to students while U.S. Air Force Staff Sgt. Sararana started learning sign language approximately six years ago to communicate with a family member who is deaf. Spending the day with the students while deployed in support of New Horizons Belize 2014 was the first time Sararana has been able to apply his signing skills while in uniform.
