U.S. Marine 1st Lt. Daniel Comito, right, assists in cutting a piece of metal that will be used for the construction of a new school room roof during Exercise Balikatan 2014 in Guinobatan, Albay Province, Philippines. This year marks the 30th iteration of the exercise, which is an annual Republic of the Philippines-U.S. military bilateral training exercise and humanitarian civic assistance engagement. The project is one of five engineering civic action project missions being completed by members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and U.S. armed forces as a part of Balikatan. Comito is a combat engineer with 9th Engineer Support Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
