Nakamura visited the Marines with 3rd Battalion, 12th Marine Regiment, during Artillery Relocation Training Program 14-1 to get a better understanding of how artillery units operate in a field environment. During his visit, Nakamura observed an artillery fire mission and how the unit deploys crew-served weapons to defend their position. Nakamura is the director general of the Tohoku Defense Bureau, Ministry of Defense. Barron is a field artillery operations man with Company C, 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, currently assigned to 12th Marines, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
