U.S. 5TH FLEET AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY (June 27, 2014) U.S. Marines with 22nd Marine Expeditionary Unit’s (MEU) combat cargo section move cargo as an MH-60S Seahawk with Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 9 (HSC 9) drops several pallets onto the amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde (LPD-19) during a replenishment at sea. The 22nd MEU is deployed with the Bataan Amphibious Ready Group as a theater reserve and crisis response force throughout U.S. Central Command and the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
