U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Dakota W. Dodd, right, hikes up a hill while patrolling July 22, 2014 during Korean Marine Exchange Program 14-12 at the 1st Republic of Korea Marine Division Base, Pohang, South Korea. KMEP is a series of regularly scheduled bilateral training exercises used to enhance interoperability and increase familiarization with the Korean Peninsula. The patrol training event involved a movement to contact and a transition to defense between opposing ROK and U.S. Marine forces. Dodd is a light armored vehicle crewman with Company B, 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, currently assigned to Combat Assault Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force, under the unit deployment program.
