A Marine with Weapons Company, Battalion Landing Team, 2nd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, descends as part of a fast rope qualification during the 11th MEU’s Western Pacific 14-2 deployment, aboard the USS Makin Island Aug. 8, 2014. The 11th MEU and Makin Island Amphibious Ready Group are deployed as a sea-based, expeditionary crisis response force capable of conducting amphibious missions across the full range of military operations.
