A Light Armored Vehicle with the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Ground Combat Element, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment, provides security as a landing craft air cushion from the USS Iwo Jima’s Assault Craft Unit 4 during a tactical offload of 24th MEU personnel and equipment near Onslow Beach, North Carolina, Aug. 12, 2014. The offload was part of Amphibious Squadron/Marine Expeditionary Unit Integration, the second major exercise for the 24th MEU. The AAV’s were launched from the USS Arlington and USS Iwo Jima, both a part of the Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group.
