PORTSMOUTH, Va. (Sept. 19, 2014) – Lt. Gen. Robert B. Neller presented purple hearts to Lance Corporals William Simmons and Christopher Stidom in a ceremony at Portsmouth Naval Hospital Sept. 19, 2014. Both Marines are combat engineers and were with 2nd Combat Engineer Battalion stationed in Camp Lejeune. Simmons is a Lincoln, Neb. native and Stidom hails from Huntington, W. Va.
