Cpl. Michael Elle, an assault amphibious vehicle crew chief with Alpha Company, 2nd Assault Amphibian Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, attaches an antenna to his AAV so he can communicate with the other AAVs in his platoon aboard Camp Lejeune, N.C., Sept. 8, 2014. Alpha Company Marines spent two days on Onslow Beach testing the seaworthiness of their AAVs before taking them out to sea to board the USS Whidbey Island in order to conduct ship operations.
