Army Col. David W. Detata expresses his gratitude toward master labor contract and indirect hire agreement employees at the 2014 Length of Service Awards Ceremony for U.S. Forces Japan employees Oct. 15 at the Okinawa Convention Center in Ginowan, Okinawa. He, along with representatives from the other branches of service, helped recognize 855 MLCs and IHA hires who have reached 10, 20, 30 and 40 years of service for USFJ. Out of the 855, 243 individuals were recognized for their service with the Marine Corps in Okinawa. USFJ employees are Japanese citizens hired by the Government of Japan to work for USFJ in various capacities, from interpreters to medical technicians. Detata is the chief of Okinawa Area Field Office, USFJ.
