Lance Cpls. Kevin A. Cortez, right, and Brandon D. Dodge load magazines Oct. 31 on the flight deck of the USNS Sacagawea. Marines further developed their marksmanship fundamentals during two days of live-fire. The live-fire was conducted as training for the Marines participating in T-AKE 14-2, a maritime pre-positioned force, multi-country theater security cooperation event which deployed from Okinawa and traveled the Asia-Pacific area of operations. Cortez, from San Antonio, Texas, is a ground radio repairman, and Dodge, from New Bern, North Carolina, is a field radio operator. Both are assigned to the Provisional Rifle Platoon with Combat Logistics Detachment 379, Headquarters Regiment, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
