Marines and sailors do squad pushups during the “Elf Tryouts,” a high-intensity interval relay event as part of the Jingle Bell Challenge here Dec. 19. “It was great to be able to have Camp Foster come out and bring all of our tenant units together in celebration of the upcoming holidays,” said Col. Thomas Pecina, commanding officer of Headquarters and Support Battalion, Marine Corps Installations Pacific-Marine Corps Base Camp Butler, Japan and Camp Foster commander. Six battalions took part in the Jingle Bell Challenge, which consisted of several events, including a 5-kilometer run, interval exercise relay race, tug-of-war contest and Humvee pull. The service members are with 3rd Medical Battalion, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
