Lance Cpl. Landon R. Beatty, left, and Cpl. Fernando Espinoza mount an M240B medium machine gun to a 7-ton truck during training Jan. 7 at Range 9 in the Central Training Area. The motor transportation Marines practiced the fundamentals of medium machine guns to prepare for the upcoming Integrated Training Exercise 15-2 at Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center in Twentynine Palms, California. The Marines engaged static targets from distances up to 1,000 feet during this training, increasing confidence in their accuracy with the weapon system. Beatty, from Odenville, Alabama, is a machine gunner with Truck Company, Headquarters Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. Espinoza, from Phoenix, Arizona, is a motor vehicle operator with the company.
