Since 1971, Washingtonian Magazine has recognized individuals with the Washingtonian of the Year Award, who have stood out due to the impact they have had on the community. Gunnery Sgt. Tawanda “Tee” Hanible’s, a South Side Chicago native, who most recently serves as the administration chief with Delta Company, 4th Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, 4th Marine Division, was presented the award Jan. 15 in the Ballroom at the Willard InterContinental Hotel, Washington, D.C.
