Bald eagles feasting on a deer carcass were photographed by a baited trail camera at Ponderosa Field on the west side of the base. Trail cameras are set up by Marine Corps Base Quantico’s Natural Resources and Environmental Affairs to monitor the bait sites in preparation for a tagging-and-release program that allows NREA to monitor the health and habits of the bald eagle population aboard the base.
