Cpl. Logan A. Hancock hangs from a rope while executing a skid rappel Feb. 11 on Camp Hansen, Okinawa, Japan during the helicopter rope suspension training course. HRST is a course that trains Marines on the necessary skills required to perform a wide variety of rappelling techniques they may need to use in a combat operation. The skid rappel is a rappel that offers no other surface contact besides the rope itself. Hancock, an Albemarle, North Carolina native, is a reconnaissance man with Force Reconnaissance Company, 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
