Marines prepare to board three CH-53E Super Stallions as part of an aerial assault for the Battalion Assault Course on Feb. 12 at Marine Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, during Integrated Training Exercise 2-15. The aerial assault is designed to suppress an enemy and provide other units security by controlling their flank before the other ground forces move through objectives. The Marines are with Company F, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force. The CH-53E Super Stallions are with Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 462, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
