GULF OF ADEN (Aug. 28, 2015) U.S. Marine Sgt. Raymond Rodriguez grapples with Lance Cpl. Thiago Desousa during a Marine Corps martial arts program green belt course aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Anchorage (LPD 23). Rodriguez is a motor transport operator with Combat Logistics Battalion 15, and Desousa is also a motor transport operator with Headquarters and Service Company, Battalion Landing Team 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. The 15th MEU is embarked on the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and deployed in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
