Col. James C. Carroll III, commanding officer, Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany, along with several Marines, Sailors and Civilian-Marines, toured the Mars Chocolate North America Albany, Ga., site, Oct. 1. The visit was part of his familiarization tour with the community and local industry. "I had no idea the huge impact the local plant has on worldwide operations as it relates to the diverse product line that includes both human and pet foods. The innovation that is taking place here in Albany was an eye-opener and I was amazed to learn that all of the peanuts that go into Mars products around the world come from right here," Carroll said.
