ARTA TRAINING RANGE, Djibouti (Oct. 7, 2015) U.S. Marine Capt. John Garlasco is awarded the desert commando pin during the desert survival and tactics course pinning ceremony. Garlasco is a platoon commander with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit’s Force Reconnaissance Detachment. Elements of the 15th MEU are training with the 5th Overseas Combined Arms Regiment (RIAOM) in Djibouti from Sept. 21 to Oct. 7 in order to improve interoperability between the MEU and the French military.
