Joint Tactical Attack Controller and Joint Fire Observer Marines look to the horizon as an illumination round, fired from an 81 mm mortar, lights up the night sky during training on the hills of Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, Jan. 13, 2016. JTACs and JFOs are responsible for effectively and accurately coordinating strikes on targets from both artillery and aircraft.
