Col. Roberta L. Shea and Sgt. Maj. David A. Wilson lead I Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group on a conditioning hike Feb. 12, 2016, at Camp Pendleton, Calif. The six-mile hike sought to improve operational readiness and build camaraderie through tough, realistic physical training. “I believe conditioning hikes are a remarkable opportunity for units to demonstrate not only morale and unit cohesion but, most importantly, small unit leadership,” said Shea, the commanding officer of I MHG, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
