On Feb. 17, 2016, a jazz combo from "The President's Own" U.S. Marine Band presented a Music in the High Schools program at Fairmont Heights High School in Capitol Heights, Md. The performance included music from the combo's "musical heroes." At the conclusion of the program one of the students raised his hand and said, "I've only been playing the bass for three months.
