Recruits of Alpha Company, 1st Recruit Training Battalion, leap for a rope during Confidence Course II at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Feb. 23. Recruits were instructed to use their momentum to get from one side of the obstacle to the other. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Alpha Company is scheduled to graduate April 22.
