U.S. Marines and Royal Thai sailors use roof turrets to put out an engulfed aircraft during a training event as part of Cobra Gold 16 at Utapao, Thailand, Feb. 19, 2016. The roof turrets are part of the beginning stages of putting out an engulfed aircraft, followed by spraying away fuel and putting out spot fires using hand lines. Cobra Gold 16 is a multi-national exercise designed to increase interoperability between participating nations to ensure security and peace in the Asia-Pacific region. The Marines are with the aviation rescue and firefighting section with Marine Wing Support Squadron 172, Marine Aircraft Group 36, 1st Marine Aircraft Wing, III Marine Expeditionary Force.
