A crew chief with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 165 “White Knights” looks out of a window aboard an MV-22B Osprey while conducting a confined area landing in Southern California, April 5. Each aircraft had at least two crew chiefs who acted as extensions of the pilots eyes and communicated the presence of potential hazards, the distance and location or nearby aircraft and the Osprey’s approximate distance from the ground.
