Major General Richard L. Simcock II, commanding general 3rd Marine Division, III Marine Expeditionary Force visits the High Mobility Artillery Rocket System with Fox Battery, 2nd Battalion, 14th Marine Regiment, assigned to 12th Marines, III Marine Expeditionary at Antonio Bautista Air Base in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan April 10, 2016. Earlier this week, HIMARS were fired for the first time in the Philippines at Crow Valley. The HIMARS then displaced via C-17 Globemaster III from Crow Valley to Palawan to demonstrate its rapid maneuverability. In its 32nd iteration, BK16 trains U.S. service members “shoulder-to-shoulder” with members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines to increase combined readiness to crises and conflict across the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
