Lance Cpl. Seth A. Gordon, a field radio operator with the 11th Marine Expeditionary Unit, shovels a trench to conceal network cables during the build-up of a shore-based expeditionary command post as part of MEU Exercise at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, California, April 26, 2016. The exercise ensures each element of the MEU is able to communicate, coordinate, and control all organic units, with each element demonstrating its ability to command and control from an expeditionary shore site.
