A U.S. Marine Corps F/A-18D Hornet with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 242, departs the runway at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, Feb. 3, 2017. VMFA(AW)-242’s mission is to support the Marine Air-Ground Task Force commander by providing supporting arms coordination, conducting reconnaissance, and destroying surface targets and enemy aircraft day or night.
