A Marine lays cover fire during Military Operations in Urban Terrain training aboard Marine Corps Outlying Field Atlantic, N.C., Feb. 2, 2017. Nearly 40 Marines with supporting personnel participated in the weeklong training that simulated hostile takeovers and how to overcome unexpected situations with small unit leadership. “This [training] gave small unit leaders the chance to train the Marines to help them become more in-tune to the life or death situations they may encounter,” said Cpl. Christian Leishman, a squad leader for the exercise. The Marine is assigned to Marine Wing Support Squadron 271, Marine Aircraft Group 14, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing.
