Drill instructors of Kilo Company, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion, recite the Drill Instructor Creed during pick up at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego, Jan. 27. After spending the first week in-processing, recruits marched to their new squad bay where their drill instructors introduced themselves, recited the Drill Instructor Creed and began carrying out the mission of transforming civilians into United States Marines. Annually, more than 17,000 males recruited from the Western Recruiting Region are trained at MCRD San Diego. Kilo Company is scheduled to graduate April 21.
