A member of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, 30th Infantry Regiment, 12th Brigade, Eastern Army, simulates what happens to the rope while fast roping out of an MV-22B tiltrotor aircraft on Camp Soumagahara, Japan March 10, 2017 as part of Forest Light 17-1. Forest Light is a routine, semi-annual exercise conducted by U.S. and Japan forces in order to strengthen our interoperability and combined capabilities in defense of the U.S.-Japan alliance.
