Task Force Al Asad’s logo is displayed on a concrete barrier in front of the Task Force Headquarters at Al Asad Air Base, Iraq, July 8, 2017. The Task Force, in its fourth iteration, was stood up in 2015 and comprises of coalition forces including the U.S., British, and Danish Armies. Task Force Al Asad’s mission is to advise and assist and build partner capacity with the Iraqi Security Forces in Al Anbar province in support of Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, the global coalition to defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria.
