Corporal Brian P. Johnson is presented the Purple Heart medal by Lieutenant. Gen. William D. Beydler, Mar. 17, 2016, at a ceremony at MacDill Air Force Base, Fla. Johnson received the Purple Heart for injuries he sustained on 26 July 2006, during combat operations with Combined Regimental Combat Team 5, in Fallujah, Iraq. Johnson completed his active service in November of 2006. Beydler is the commander of Marine Corps Forces Central Command.
