An Afghan National Army soldier with 6th Kandak, 1st Brigade, 215th Corps fires an M24 sniper rifle during a battle sight zero range at Camp Shorabak, Afghanistan, Nov. 11, 2017. As part of the operational readiness cycle, approximately 15 soldiers with the unit are completing sniper training to more effectively gather intelligence and provide long-range firing capabilities during future combat missions in Helmand province. U.S. Marine advisors with Task Force Southwest are assisting ANA instructors throughout the eight-week ORC, helping to generate a lethal and capable force to fight the Taliban throughout the province.
