CAMP FOSTER, OKINAWA, Japan –– From left to right, Terry Burmester, Anthony Green, Brig. Gen. Paul J. Rock Jr., Dr. Tina Smilie and Joe Cassidy pose Jan. 31 after the signing of the Military Saves Proclamation aboard Camp Foster, Okinawa, Japan. Military Saves is traditionally a week-long event but Marine Corps Community Services extended the event to a month to stress the importance for service members to understand their finances. Marines and their families can go to one of the free scheduled financial classes hosted by MCCS or they can set up an appointment with a financial advisor. Burmester is the Personal and Professional Development Director for MCCS. Green is a personal financial management specialist for MCCS. Rock is the commanding general of Marine Corps Installations Pacific and Marine Corps Base Camp Butler. Smilie is the Personal and Professional Development Branch Head for MCCS.
