On Feb. 26, 2019, the U.S. Marine Band participated in the National Desert Storm and Desert Shield Memorial site dedication ceremony, located on the National Mall. Speakers included the former Vice President of the United States, Dick Cheney; Scott Stump, President and CEO of National Desert Storm War Memorial Association; Congressman Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.), Lieutenant Governor Jenean Hampton (R-Ky.), General Charles Albert “Chuck” Horner, USAF, (ret.); The Honorable Edward “Skip” Gnehm, Ambassador of the United States of America to Kuwait (1991); His Excellency Abdullah Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Ambassador of the State of Kuwait.
