Lance Cpl. Kaleb Parker, a tropospheric scatter radio multi-channel equipment operator with General Support Company, 8th Communication Battalion, II Marine Expeditionary Force Information Group, poses for a photo on Camp Lejeune, October, 2020. “Ask questions. Don’t be afraid to take charge, it’s okay to stand out,” said Parker, a Norwood, N.Y., native. According to his leadership, Parker works diligently and frequently takes initiative to complete tasks that are beyond his scope as a junior Marine. Parker also exhibits that he is a team player and willing to assist others to complete the mission. Parker recently earned the Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal for superior performance in duties as a tropospheric scatter radio multi-channel equipment operator during the TRC Field Exercise where he was instrumental in testing the operability of 12 Radio Terminal Sets valued at $18 million in total. Lance Corporal Parker was also won Marine of the Quarter for 8th Comm. Bn. and was submitted for II MIG Marine of the Quarter. Parker’s role as the Company Embarkations Representative was integral in isolating the equipment necessary for MEFEX 21.2. Parker identified 171 line items valuing over $5 million to be packed and transported to Fort A.P. Hill, V.A. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Lance Cpl. Armando Elizalde)
