A U.S. Marine with Battalion Landing Team 1/5, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, searches the simulated enemy during a helicopter raid training exercise on Ie Shima, Okinawa, Japan, Feb. 9, 2022. The training exercise consisted of Marines taking control of a known location to establish a Forward Arming and Refueling Point. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
